Trevor Blakely is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Forgestone Capital, bringing more than 25 year of experience in the commercial real estate industry and more than $30 billion of investment and debt financing expertise. Prior to founding Forgestone, Trevor was head of BMO’s Real Estate Capital Markets Brokerage Group where he grew the company’s brokerage arm to be recognized as one of the most dominant and successful commercial real estate brands in the country. Trevor is responsible for the strategic direction of Forgestone’s business and plays a pivotal role in the overall investment strategy, deal generation and deal execution process. His strategic vision is industry-leading and his solid relationships and exceptional execution capabilities have enabled him to identify and execute on strategic investments that optimize fund returns. Trevor holds a degree in Honours Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Keith Jameson is a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, bringing more than 25 years of real-estate investment experience to Forgestone Capital. Keith was formerly a Managing Director of BMO’s Real Estate Capital Markets Group and been involved in more than $25-billion of commercial real estate sales and acquisition activity throughout his career. Keith has over 10 years’ experience as a real estate consultant focusing on property valuations, market analysis and due diligence across Canada. In collaboration with the CEO, Keith is responsible for overall direction of Forgestone’s business which also includes day-to-day operations, managing deal flow, overseeing the execution of acquisitions and asset management, as well as client and investor relations. Keith was educated in Dublin, Ireland and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Ron Inger is Chief Investment Officer of Forgestone Capital, bringing more than 17 years of real estate investments, asset management, development and project management experience. Prior to joining Forgestone, Ron spent over 10 years at Adgar Investments & Development, most recently as VP Investments & Asset Management where he gained broad range of industry experience. Ron holds a B.Sc. in Physics & Computer Science from Bar Ilan University, an MBA from Tel Aviv University and is a graduate of the Global Consulting Program of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
Stefan Simonyi is Vice President Debt Services focusing on the Fund’s loan origination as well as providing oversight for all fund and client related debt matters. Stefan has 18 years’ experience in loan origination, securitization, loan sales and portfolio management. Formerly a Director Originations at GE Capital Real Estate, Stefan originated mortgages in Central Canada and led GE’s Canadian loan syndications and Capital Markets. Prior to this, he held progressive positions with Canada Post Pension Plan - Real Estate Investments and Credit Suisse/Column Financial’s mortgage operations.
Don Manlapaz is Vice President, Development at Forgestone Capital. Don is a demonstrated Professional with over 16 years of real estate development experience and a background in Urban Planning. Formerly with Dream Unlimited he guided a program to bring additional value to existing office REIT assets and managed a country wide development portfolio in a joint venture with CP Rail. Previously, as Director of Planning and Development with First Gulf Corp., he was largely focused on office and mixed-use development. He is also accomplished in delivering industrial, retail and large scale, fully integrated vertically mixed use development projects. From site acquisition to concept development to municipal approvals, design direction to financial feasibility and project delivery Don uses his creativity to manage complex development solutions.
Farrah Khimji is the Vice President, Finance responsible for the financial reporting for Forgestone’s Funds and corporate companies including all accounting, consolidation, tax, investor communications, cash and debt management functions. Prior to joining Forgestone, Farrah was a Manager of Property Accounting at Oxford Properties where she managed a team of accountants responsible for the financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting for a portfolio of ten high profile commercial real estate assets valued at $1.6 billion dollars and comprising over 2.5 million square feet of space. Farrah obtained her Chartered Accountant designation at PricewaterhouseCoopers, holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McMaster University and a Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Farrah is active in the commercial real estate community as a Co-chair of the NAIOP Developing Leaders Committee and Co-chair of Toronto CREW’s Programs Committee.
Paul comes to Forgestone with over 20 years of Asset Management, Property Management Development and Construction experience in all major commercial and residential sectors. Prior to joining Forgestone, Paul held a senior Asset Management role at Bentall Kennedy where he was responsible for an office, industrial and residential portfolio with a market value in excess of $1.2 billion. Before his time with Bentall Kennedy, Paul enjoyed 6 years at Malen Capital and held senior roles at O&Y Properties and GWL Realty Advisors.
Sarah Jane O’Shea is Vice President, Asset Management responsible for overseeing the Fund’s income-producing assets. Prior to joining Forgestone, she held the role of Vice President, Asset Management at Allied Properties REIT where she covered a portfolio of over 10 million square feet distributed across all major Canadian markets. Before moving to Canada, Sarah Jane worked in capital markets at Jones Lang LaSalle, Ireland, and property management at a boutique Dublin firm. Sarah Jane is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), an engineering graduate of University College Dublin and holds a Masters in Real Estate from Oxford Brookes University.
David has 27 years experience in Real Estate Asset Management, initially in South Africa, where he managed portfolios of properties on behalf of a large Pension Fund (Old Mutual PLC) and a third party manager (JHI/Cushman & Wakefield), In his role as Executive VP of Asset Management, David also sat on the Board of two REIT’s listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Forgestone, David headed up a team at IAM Real Estate responsible for the performance and strategic asset management of closed and open ended funds with portfolios of retail, industrial and office properties across Canada.
Christina has over 16 years experience in Asset Management, Acquisitions and Loan Origination and has led transactions totaling $1.6 billion. Prior to joining Forgestone, Christina was Vice President, Asset Management at Nicola Crosby Real Estate where she led all Asset Management activities and had responsibility for the performance of a portfolio of $1 billion of office, retail, industrial and self-storage properties located in major markets in Canada and the United States. Previously, she held progressive Asset Management and investment roles at Bentall Kennedy, Grosvenor and TIAA CREF. Christina holds a M.Sc. Planning from the University of Toronto and a M.Sc. Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
Mathieu Fleury is the Vice President Development Finance, bringing over 8 years of professional experience in real estate finance working across a wide variety of asset classes including residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed‐use development. Prior to joining Forgestone, Mathieu was Director, Urban Development Finance at Dream Unlimited where he managed a team of financial analysts responsible for the financial forecasting and budgeting of approximately 9,000 residential units as well as over 7MM square feet of retail and commercial development across Canada. Before his time at Dream, he held positions at Great Gulf and Loblaw Properties. Mathieu holds a Master of Philosophy in Real Estate Finance degree from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Geoff is Vice President, Business Development at Forgestone Capital. Geoff has established a strong reputation and gained global experience as an innovator and advisor in the commercial real estate and energy infrastructure sectors, specializing in launching new market platforms and acting as pursuit team leader for large development projects. Previously, Geoff was the founding Managing Director of a national real estate solutions department within Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Corporate Occupier & Investor Services division. Responsibilities included leading cross-functional teams, national business development with P&L oversight across major flagship markets. Prior to this role, Geoff was a member of Cushman & Wakefield’s major accounts group, leading business development, providing corporate real estate solutions and executing market strategies for many Fortune 1000 companies, commercial office, mixed use and data center users.
As an analyst at Forgestone, Gavin Gong provides in-depth financial modelling, due diligence and research for the firm’s asset management and acquisition mandates. Prior to joining Forgestone, Gavin gained a broad exposure in finance, which included working on an overseas corporate bond issuance for a major real estate developer, developing discretionary institutional mandate for a major asset manager, and tutoring at the University of Toronto. Gavin holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto and is currently working toward the CFA designation.
Deborah Marinelli has worked with Trevor Blakely and Keith Jameson throughout most of their respective careers supporting them in all aspects of administrative tasks and client communications. Deborah gained her experience in HR and business operations through previous EA roles at Royal LePage Commercial, Brascan Financial (now Brookfield) and BMO Capital Markets Real Estate and has applied her expertise to the benefit of Forgestone Capital. She is highly proficient in all primary business software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and is responsible for the creative role in all major reports and presentations. In addition to her many key administrative functions, Deborah has developed and now monitors Forgestone’s medical benefits plan while also managing all human resources duties. Deborah is a highly effective and efficient Executive Assistant who provides invaluable support to senior management while also having a key role in establishing and coordinating the implementation of company administrative policies.
Jessica Stewart has over 5 years experience in Administration within a variety of industries. As Administrative Assistant, Jessica is responsible for managing several of the Administrative functions for the Forgestone Management Team. Prior to joining Forgestone, Jessica held a role at CauseForce as Office Administrator and Packaging Coordinator for the Ride to Conquer Cancer and OneWalk events; managing volunteers and creating more than 10,000 packages for registered participants each year.
