Stefan Simonyi is President Mortgage Investments and leads the firm’s loan origination, mortgage servicing and mortgage fund businesses. In addition, Stefan also provides oversight and leads all client debt matters for the opportunity funds and advisory/asset management business. Stefan has 25 years of experience with loan origination, loan syndications, loan sales, loan workouts and portfolio management. He brings a hands-on and pro-active approach to debt asset management. To date, he has originated and structured over $9 billion in commercial mortgage transactions.
Prior to joining Forgestone, Stefan was formerly a Director Originations at GE Capital Real Estate, originating mortgages in Nationwide and he led all of GE’s Canadian loan syndications and capital markets activities. Prior to this, Stefan held progressive positions with Canada Post Pension Plan – Real Estate Investments and Credit Suisse/Column Financial mortgage operations.
Stefan holds his MBA from Capital University, Ohio, USA and Bachelor of Arts and Science from University of Toronto, Ontario Canada.
